Georgia was FORMERLY one of the most (temporarily) messed up dogs we've ever rescued - emaciated, running sores, etc. But a few months of loving care in her foster home has turned her into a new dog - physically that is, because personality-wise she's always been a gem. Georgia's foster mom has rescued dozens and dozens of great dogs over the years, but she says that Georgia is one of the sweetest and easiest to have around the house. She's got just the right balance of laid back and playful. She romps with her canine foster brothers and plays through the fence with the next door neighbor dogs. She's even been spotted lying beside her pitbull mix foster brother, swapping chew bones - there's no better testament to her dog friendliness than that! She is friendly towards new dogs if they are also friendly and reasonably calm , but she can get overwhelmed by a very pushy dog or a chaotic environment. Her ideal household is a orderly one with another non-hyper dog (or two) she could play & chill with. Georgia is a loving girl who has never met a human she hasn't loved. She's been exposed to small children and is always calm and friendly around them. Georgia has proved to be a terrific housedog who can keep herself occupied chewing on bones or snoozing on a dog bed while her people are busy. She enjoys her crate so much that she puts herself to bed at night and all her foster mom has to do is close the door. One of her favorite things to do is snuggle in blankets - a habit we think she picked up at animal control, where the staff showered her with blankets to protect her formerly bony body from the hard floor. She's a smart girl who likes to please and gives good eye contact too, so she's a great candidate for advanced obedience. Last but not least, Georgia is quite a beauty - her pictures don't quite do her justice. Of course we don't know her family tree, but she looks exactly like a "Black Mouth Cur", a common dog in the south. Georgia is an absolute delight who will make her future family very happy.
