The annual Benevolence Market will be held this year at First Baptist Church in downtown Athens on Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2013, from 12:00 noon to 2:30 PM.
The Benevolence Market offers an alternative holiday giving experience. Instead of engaging in traditional gift exchange with friends and family, you can come to the Market and meet representatives from approximately 30 local, non-profit agencies (Athens Canine Rescue, Athens Area Habitat for Humanity, and Project Safe, for example). You can help purchase items that these agencies need with donations given in the name of someone with whom you would ordinarily exchange presents. The Benevolence Market makes for excellent holiday shopping as well as supports local efforts to make Northeast Georgia a better, and more welcoming, place.
First Baptist Church of Athens is located at the corner of Pulaski St. and E. Hancock Ave. at 355 Pulaski. There is plenty of parking in the lot next to the church. Lunch options will be available and there will also be live music. Click here for detailed directions to First Baptist. Cash and checks are welcome.
