Benevolence Market

The annual Benevolence Market will be held this year at the First Presbyterian Church of Athens on Sunday afternoon, December 7, 2014, from 12:00 noon to 2:30 PM. The First Presbyterian Church of Athens is located at 185 E. Hancock.

The Benevolence Market offers an alternative holiday giving experience. Instead of engaging in a traditional gift exchange with friends and family, you can come to the Market and meet representatives from approximately 30 local, non-profit agencies (the Athens Land Trust, Project Safe, and the Athens Area Humane Society, for example). You can help purchase items that these agencies need with donations given in the name of someone with whom you would ordinarily exchange presents. In addition, there will be a light lunch (donations gladly accepted) and live music. The Benevolence Market offers excellent holiday shopping as well as supports local efforts to make Northeast Georgia a better, more welcoming place.

The Market is supported by local congregations and is an ecumenical effort. Questions? Please contact Carla Wilson Buss, cbuss@uga.edu. Thank you for your support!
