Junebug – Adoption Pending!!!
born ~January 2017
Introducing Junebug! Miss Junebug was born at the beginning of this year and is a Pointer mix. With a little room to fill out, she’s almost full grown at 41lbs.
Looking for an eager, people-pleasing, happy & self-entertained dog? Junebug will happily fill that empty space for you! Basically everything she does is adorable – she always wants to have a toy in her mouth and she’ll go sprinting back to the bedroom if she forgets it. While laying down, she has to be snuggled up to at least one of her foster siblings 🙂 Cuddling with her humans is also a happily accepted activity! Being in the middle of whatever is happening just seems like the right place to be. She even makes waking up in the morning fun, if you can believe that! Junebug just love getting attention and can get a little over excited, but calms down once you do too 😉
Right now, Junebug gets lots of play time with her foster siblings. Foster Mom was already contemplating adopting Junebug… but that would make dog #5! And we’re not talking chihuahuas… so Junebug needs to find her new home so that Foster Mom can continue to rescue other dogs in need at the shelter. With the heat, long walks aren’t a great idea, but once it cools off a bit (or later in the evening) walks/runs are a great way to expel some of her energy, or a good game of fetch. She’s your typical puppy – play hard/sleep hard. And she’s good at chilling out when it’s time to just relax and watch tv. All Junebug needs to work on, really, is keeping all 4 on the floor when people come through the door. She’s shown great progress, but still gets excited and jumps. And getting better acquainted with the vacuum… but thunderstorms? She’s a champ!
In general, Junebug is a confident pup and loves giving kisses! New people? ZERO hesitation, so don’t expect a guard dog! She’d be a great dog park dog and doesn’t need structured introductions to new pups. Right now, Junebug lives with several dogs that are her size or larger, and she plays very well with them! She even met a little Yorkie recently and was very sweet with her. She hasn’t been around children, but she’s given us no indication to think she’d be anything but loving! She hasn’t been around cats either, but with as playful as she is, a proper introduction would be a solid choice.
The crate doesn’t seem to bother Junebug and she is fully housebroken. She sleeps through the night and gets the run of the house when Foster Mom isn’t home for a few hours at a time and has done great! It probably helps that she has four role models showing her the ropes – you know, the do’s and don’ts of being home alone. But overall, she’s proven to be a sweet, loving, happy dog just looking for her forever family!
