“I’m a girl.”

When Deryn opened her eyes, the lady boffin was staring at her with no change of expression.

“Indeed,” she said.

Welcome Deryn! Deryn is a 10 month old yellow beauty currently weighing in at just 33 pounds. Because she’s so young, she’ll likely get bigger yet – likely to around 40 pounds (give or take). Think you’re seeing double? Deryn is a littermate of Yuna, so the girls look strikingly similar! Deryn is currently nursing a slight limp that we are working to get to the bottom of.

As Deryn is newer to the ACR family, she is just beginning her crate and house-training. She still has accidents occasionally but is learning! She’s also working on giving signals. As far as the crate goes, Deryn will go in for food, but it’s not her favorite place yet – she’d much rather hang out in the open with her human pals!

Deryn lives with other dogs in her foster home! She does well with them, even though she can be a tad shy with larger male dogs at first. Once the initial bashfulness wears off, she’s as good as gold and is happy to play!

Her bashfulness is present around humans as well, and she’s a bit timid when meeting new people, especially men. But once the newness wears off, she is happy to be around her new friends! She’s relatively needy and will tell ya when she wants to snuggle (this girl likes to cuddle) but gives others space when they want it.

As far as energy goes, Deryn seems pretty laid back. She’s currently on exercise restrictions due to the aforementioned limp – so stay tuned as we learn more about Deryn as she eventually gets to frolic and run!
