Draco – Adoption Pending!
“Most of the time, I think you have to make a choice—at a certain point—of the man you want to be. And I will tell you, at that time, you need a parent or a friend. And if you’ve learned to hate your parent by then and you have no friends…then you’re all alone. And being alone—that’s so hard.” – Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Welcome Draco! Draco, brother of ACR adoptable Tonks, comes to us at 10-months-old and 32 pounds, and he’s got a weight gain goal of 15-20 pounds. He’s doing pretty well with fattening up, but he’s got a little more to go!
Draco is almost housebroken and fully crate-trained. He can sleep through the night and keep his crate clean anytime Foster Mom isn’t home, and he signals that he needs to go out by whining a little at the door but still has a few accidents. He’s a champ in his crate: he will go in on command and is so excited when there’s a treat there for him. He’s chomped on a food bowl that was left in there with him, so he shouldn’t be left with any toys or materials that might be unsafe for him.
Draco hasn’t been around cats yet, but he does get along well with other dogs. He loves playing with big and little dogs, and even though he’s a little shy and lacks confidence at the beginning, he’s getting more sure of himself every day.
Since he’s still a puppy, he needs lots of exercise! He’s a great napper when he’s left at home alone, but he needs walks, playtime, fetch, etc. to make sure he gets his energy out. Although he likes lots of toys, a simple tennis ball will do the trick for him.
Draco is a bit shy around new people, but if the new person is holding a treat, he gets over that shyness REAL quick. Draco is happy to receive attention and affection from his people, and he really likes to be right by his humans if they are home.
Draco has had a bit of a rough start in life, but he’s looking forward to a bigger, brighter future. Is it with you? Contact us today!
