“It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.” – John Grogan (Author, Marley & Me)

Welcome Eevee! Eevee is a great size at around 26lbs as a one year old. She should not get too much bigger than she is now. Like her name-sake, Eevee, a Pokémon species, this girl has got the ears and is equally adorable!

Eevee is currently working on house and crate training! She keeps her crate clean, but doesn’t seem to have a signal that she has to go when she’s just hanging in the house with foster mom. A treat or two will lure Eevee into her crate, and then you’ll hear her sing the song of her people for the first five minutes as she insists that she MUST be out of it spending time with you. When she realizes you’re not listening, she settles. Now we must admit intelligence is Eevee’s forte, she’s learned how to escape from her crate – but we’re smarter (hopefully) and it’s becoming a thing of the past. Our girl knows the commands “sit”, “off”, “shake” and “go to bed”.

Eevee lives in a house full of other dogs and does great with them! She loves all dogs she meets, and insists on greeting every single one she sees! She mirrors what her canine pals are doing and you can often find them all napping away together. You can often find her and her foster sister, Buffy, playing where Eevee uses Buffy as a hurdle! Eevee likes to talk to Foster Mom’s cats, and while we think it’s endearing, the cats would much rather her not be in their space. If the dog park was a beauty pageant, she’d win Miss. Congeniality – a friend to all.

Eevee is friendly with both men and women. She is a little wary and cautious when she first meets new people, but once she feels comfortable she’ll ask you for all the pets! She likes attention, but doesn’t demand it when you’re busy. Eevee also recently met some children and did great with them! She was very excited to play with them at the dog park, and was mild-mannered and respectful of them.

Eevee has pretty moderate energy and would benefit from long walks or canine play dates. She’d be an excellent dog park dog, which would also optimize the amount of energy she’s able to get out! Eevee would also be an excellent running partner. She is (unlike ACR adoptable, Pudge) competing with Usain Bolt for his world record, because WOW, she’s fast!

Our girl recently learned that she likes human affection! She has decided that she likes to lay close to Foster Mom – not a lap dog, but just close enough! She has dubbed the crook of your legs as her spot in bed, and has even started to request pets from her new human friends at the dog park!
