Introducing Lexi! Lexi is a Lab/Shiba Inu mix weighing only about 22 lbs. She could stand to gain a few more pounds, but only to fill out. This unique little pup is what we like to call fun size and she loves absolutely everyone she meets.
Miss Lexi is already crate trained! Even though it might take a treat to get her in sometimes, she’s pretty good about going when she needs to. Spending time at the dog park is one of Lexi’s favorite things to do. She’s even interacted with children there and she did just fine! Ignored them, really, but that’s because there were so many doggy friends to play with! With other pups, Lexi is super submissive, rolling over for every new friend she meets. After the sniffs are out, it’s face kisses and instant besties if they’ll play with her! Structured introductions are not required and going to the dog park is a great way to release her energy.
Sure, she’s a bit of a high energy spaz, but she’s also great at entertaining herself, so if you’re ok with a pup running around with toys all day, she’ll fit in just fine! And since she is still young, keeping her occupied with dog-OKed toys is a must. Puppies will be puppies! And if she finds it, it must be hers, right?! Having another dog around for some heavy duty play sessions will help keep her entertained though. She loves jumping on dogs’ faces, giving them kisses. It’s precious – she jumps up, pauses at the top with her arms stretched out, then sort of pounces to get them to play! You won’t be able to help yourself from laughing when you see her being the happy-go-lucky pup that she is.
Even though Lexi isn’t quite housebroken yet, she’s nearly got the hang of it. She’s able to keep her crate clean and sleeps through the night, but she’ll have the occasional accident. Lately, she’s been on a tight schedule which has improved her housebreaking immensely. This super sweet, shy, kissy dog loves everyone and seems to be fearless. For the most part, she is an independent gal but will happily soak up any attention that is given.
If you’re looking for that awkward fun size dog who just wants to play, Lexi is the perfect fit. With a little more work on her basic manners and obedience training, she’ll fit into any household that is willing to open their doors to let in some more love!
