Welcome Little Lucille! This precious pocket pitty weighs about 46lbs but is working on getting thos L-B’s down. At just over 4 years old, Lucille has so much love for her humans and just wants to melt into them when they giver her attention!
When meeting new people, Lucille just walks right up, expecting to be the center of attention. She isn’t a big licker, but if you let her, she’ll give out some kisses. Her overall demeanor is relatively mellow. When it comes to going outside, however, she is all smiles and wags! She gets super excited when it’s time for a walk and she’ll do some mad hops at the door to hurry you up! Foster Mom takes her on a 1-1.5 mile jog a couple times a week, but as the 2nd mile approaches, Lucille is wiped. Her favorite activities are running in the park and rolling in the grass. Taking Lucille out is great fun as she is great at recall and loves learning new things. She’s proven to be a quick learner, especially for a tasty reward. Once back home, she goes through a magical transformation into the most mellow of couch potatoes you ever did meet! Chewing on toys and bones will occur occasionally – her favorites are Nylabones, old socks and stuffed toys. One good walk/day, a run around the yard or some mini play sessions are all it takes to satisfy Lucille’s exercise needs.
Lucille can be a bit bossy when meeting new dogs and she usually does best with bigger breeds. Her spunkiness can be a lot to take in for a new canine friend, so soft introductions are necessary. She does have other doggy friends, she’s just more particular with who she chooses to spend her time with 😉 Cats are something to be chased after (per Lucille’s standards) so she should not be placed in a home with felines. But children are certainly welcome! Lucille is very tolerant – a small tail tug here, an ear pull there – doesn’t bother her in the slightest. While she can be a bit needy, a child’s affection does a great job at filling that void!
Need a dog that’s housebroken? You found her 😊 Lucille will tell you when she needs to go outside. Literally. She will bark at you and if you listen closely, you’ll hear her say, “Mooooom! I gotta goooooo!!!” So it’s pretty hard to overlook that, especially since she is, otherwise, a very quiet dog. Running into her crate after a toy is perfectly acceptable for Lucille, but she doesn’t like to be left in there for long periods of time. Don’t worry, you can trust Lucille with the run of the house – she’s nondestructive, chews only on her toys/bones, and is too short to reach the kitchen counter! Being curled up and smushed between pillows is where she prefers to spend her time anyway. Unless her humans are home, showering her with pets and attention. Then she’s wherever they are!
As mentioned before, she loves pets and will give you some serious side eye if a good pet session is interrupted. Love and affection are two things you will not fall short of with this cutie. If you’re looking for a dog who will have unconditional love for you, Lucille is your lady! Come and meet her and you’ll understand what I mean!
