Meet Margaery! Miss Margaery is a 20lb black lab mix and will likely top out in the mid 50’s. She is just a few months old and learning her confidence from her foster sister, Meadow.
Meeting other pups is a good time once Margaery has warmed up to them, but she is super submissive and just melts to the floor, giving nervous puppy kisses to all her new friends. She is a great dog-park pup and that could help her gain some confidence. She wants love and she wants trust, but she just gets very nervous at the beginning. When Foster Mom cleans, the vacuum throws her for a loop, but she has gotten better with it now that it’s a regular thing.
Puppies are cute. Puppies make your heart melt. And puppies tend to have a lot of accidents and take a lot of training! If you’re up for that, then bring on the puppies! Margaery nearly has the hang of housetraining. When she is in her crate she will hold it, but if she has the run of the house, she is still learning to control it. See, Margaery gets very excited and tends to drink water like a whale. Meeting new people is best done outside, but she has come VERY far since the beginning. When it’s time to go in her crate, she runs in on command and sleeps through the night. The only time she cries is if she is missing out on the fun, but if the house is quiet, she keeps quiet.
Margaery and Meadow are best buds. So if you’re looking for a dynamic duo (and are slightly insane to adopt two puppies at once), they’re perfect together! Whenever they’re around each other, Margaery just wants to play. When separated, she’ll settle down and chew on a toy, so she has a good balance with her on and off switch. Since she is still a youngster, she can only be around dogs that are up-to-date and so play dates with Meadow serve as sufficient exercise.
Showing how much she loves you is a regular thing for Margaery. She has learned that Foster Mom does not pay her any attention until she politely sits, but she tends to cheat and puts a paw on her or hugs her leg or arm as soon as she goes in to share her love. Cuddling is one of her favorite things to do and she always snuggles up against Foster Mom on the couch. Just like a normal puppy, she has a good wrestling session with her buddy and then conks out in the most awkward puppy poses.
If you’re able to devote some solid TLC, Margaery is a very trusting puppy, eager to learn and eager to please. Her tail is wagging 100% of the time and she just needs a bit more confidence. With patience and consistency, she’ll be the perfect pup in no time!
