learning crate training
Meet Peanut! Peanut is a Whippet/Fiest mix and only about 25 lbs. This little man is ALL legs. His photos are deceiving; I promise he is only 25 lbs! Peanut was born in October of 2014 and is proving to be an even keeled pup.
Not having to deal with the puppy-ness, Peanut is already housebroken. No accidents or mischief – just the perfect little gentleman! With enough persuasion, Peanut will go into his crate but he doesn’t necessarily like to, so it’ll take some more effort to get him crate trained. There are other pups in Peanut’s house and he does very well with them. If they want to play, he’ll play! If they don’t, he leaves them alone. He doesn’t need structured introductions and would probably do fine at the dog park though he hasn’t been yet.
At first, Peanut can be a bit shy. Once he feels comfortable (and it doesn’t take too long), he is so loving and is an absolute sweety. Nothing seems to really bother this pup and he stays pretty laid back in all scenarios. Playing in the yard and going for walks is a great was to exercise him, but he doesn’t need a lot. Short sessions are enough, then he just chills out for a while. In fact, Peanut is mellow mannered about 95% of the time. The only time he gets really excited and hyper is when is foster parents come home! He just can’t contain himself at that point! There isn’t a chance in the world that Peanut will turn down your attention; all he wants is some love and affection and he’s a happy camper.
If you’re looking for that little greeter to welcome you home after a long day at work, Peanut is perfect! He just wants to share how happy he is that you rescued him 🙂
