Rudy – Adoption Pending!
“I’ve been ready for this my whole life.” – Rudy, Rudy (1993)
Introducing Rudy! Mr. Rudy Patootie is a 5 month old lab-hound mix puppy who currently weighs about 30 lbs. He showed up at the shelter quite underweight and is still working on putting on the pounds. We think he’ll be about 60 lbs when full grown.
Not only was he underweight, Rudy was found with a broken toe! Thankfully, broken toes heal well in puppies with a splint and create rest. He goes back the first week of January to check his progress healing and we are hopeful he’ll be ready for adoption shortly after!
Rudy’s a super sweet, submissive puppy who does well with other dogs and loves giving face kisses. He’s proven to completely crate trained and making quick progress on housebreaking and basic commands. We haven’t seen him with kids or cats, but we think he’ll do fine since he’s got such a good-natured personality.
Once off crate rest, we think he’ll have a moderate energy level. Trips to the dog park, rough housing with doggie roommates, running around a yard, or long walks should do the trick to tire him out. While he’s on rest, though, he absolutely loves playing with toys and learning new tricks–he learned “sit” and “stay” in no time. He also loves sitting in Foster Mom’s lap and getting petted under his chin.
Rudy’s gonna be a great companion for a lucky family. Think that could be you? Apply today!
