Learning House Breaking!

“Love will find a way, anywhere we go. We’re home if we are there together.” – Simba, The Lion King

Introducing Simba! This mighty little king is about a year old and weighs 11 pounds. His favorite activities include snuggling, cuddling, and more snuggling! Simba is one of our current heartworm+ pups, but as soon as he has finished his treatment, he would love to test out your lap for snuggle-ability!

Housebreaking, Crate-Training, and Commands

Simba is trying to learn the life of a royal – an indoor dog! He is still learning the rules of housebreaking, but with the help of his foster mom, he will get there in no time. Similarly, he is figuring out crate-training. So far, he will jump right in as long as a treat is promised. It’s a work in progress but he is off to a great start. Simba is pretty busy learning these important lessons, but next on his to-do list will be learning some commands. Keep up the good work, Simba!

Behavior around other Dogs, Cats, and Kids

Simba is not too sure about dogs. His foster mom is working with him on getting better acquainted and socialized. He is fine to coexist with his foster dog sibling, but he would not care to play with him right now, thank you very much. He is shy with his kitty siblings and will touch noses with them but would otherwise prefer to be near his humans. Simba is quite fond of his human foster siblings and loooves snuggling up with them! He would do great in a home with older, calm children.

Behavior around People

Simba has quickly grown quite fond of his foster family. With new people, and still a bit with his foster dad, Simba is very shy and lacks confidence. Simba’s foster mom is continuing to work with Simba and showing him new experiences, introducing him to new people, and overall getting him more socialized. When he’s with the people he is comfortable with, he is the sweetest little cuddle bug.

Exercise Needs

Little Simba does not require a lot of exercise. If his future home has a yard, he would love to trot around and smell all the smells. Otherwise, short walks should be sufficient for this guy.
