(We are not accepting applications for Violet at this time. We want to ensure getting healthy is Violet’s first priority. She has a long road ahead of her, losing weight while treating heartworms won’t be easy.)

Introducing our newest medical pup, Violet. Violet was surrendered to a local shelter as a heartworm positive, very overweight senior. We think if she was healthy Violet should be around 45lbs, but her starting weight tipped the scales at a whopping 80.6lbs! Her first day home we quickly noticed the combination of weight and arthritis prevented her from standing up on her own if she laid down on uncarpeted surfaces. Thanks to donations from WagWorthy Naturals and Max and Neo, Violet’s joint discomfort is improving and she can now stand up on her own and looks forward to her daily walk! Test results from our vet show that besides the heartworms Violet is healthy and has no medical cause for her weight so we are left to assume her diet was less than desirable before. Violet is now on a weight management kibble, joint supplements, a light exercise routine, and has started heartworm treatment.

Stay tuned to see Violet’s progress over the next 3 months as we help her become a healthier and happier pup. So far she has lost 4lbs!!

If you are interested in donating to help cover Violet’s medical costs, please check out our Donations Page. Thank you!
