Rocky’s pictures make him look a little serious, but his personality is anything but. We should have hung a giant heart around his neck to show that he’s a total sweetheart, cuddlebug and gentleman. In fact he’s proven to be quite the ladies man, now that he lives with four female college students who have all fallen in love with him. Rocky doesn’t play favorites though – he loves them all back equally, following them around the house, sitting his 70lbs in their laps if he has the chance, and never turning down a cuddle. Actually, Rocky has never met a human he didn’t like, whether male or female, young or old. He’s unfailingly friendly and affectionate, without being demanding about it.
Although Rocky is a fairly big young dog, he’s got just the right amount of energy. He can play hard when he’s in the mood but he can also spend hours lounging around with his humans, and converts to a nice warm 70 pound dog pillow if you want him to. He’s got a favorite spot by the space heater in his foster home and loves to doze there. Rocky gets two long walks a day in his current foster home, but one nice long walk a day does him just fine, especially if it also involves a little fetch time. Rocky also enjoys the dog park and gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes, so long as they are nice to him too.
Rocky walks nicely on leash, although he can get a little protective around other dogs when he’s on leash. This is actually a common issue and one that is easily corrected with the right training (for dog and human). His foster family is working on it now and if his future owners take him to a basic obedience class to reinforce his learning, Rocky will be just about perfect.
