Pet of the Week

Stu

21 pounds born ~ Nov 2011 learning crate training learning housebreaking

Stu is a shepherd/boxer mix that was in a litter of puppies we rescued right around Christmas. He is the only tri-colored pup out of six – so you know he’s special!

We estimate Stu to be around 45 pounds when he is full grown – a perfect size in our minds!

Stu is an easy going little guy and seems to fit right in to any situation. He is wonderful with other dogs and loves to play with them and with his people. If everyone is too busy or tired, he is happy to entertain himself. He has even met small kids and done great! He, of course, wanted to play with them! He’s met people of all shapes and sizes and just trots right up to say hi! The only thing we’ve found that he was even a little scared of was the vacuum – and who isn’t scared of those?!?

Stu is a normal puppy, and learning and doing normal puppy stuff. He’s just now learning to walk on a leash, and has just about got the hang of this housebreaking thing. He’s learning what is okay to chew on and what is not and is quickly taking in all the newness of growing up!

While Stu is still young, he seems like he will easily mold to just about any level of activity – if you want a jogging partner, he can be that. If you want a dog to take on a walk and cuddle with, he can do that. He just needs the right family to help him grown up and turn him into their own dog!

Stu is extremely smart and wants to learn. At just 7 weeks of age, he already knows how to sit on command and will come when he’s called! He seems to be able to learn just about anything when there is a treat involved!

Stu is an easy and wonderful puppy. We think he will be a great all around dog and will fit in just about anywhere!
