Introducing Naomi!

This beautiful girl is three years old and weighs 41 pounds! She’s the perfect medium-sized adult dog. 

Currently, we are working on making the world less of a scary place for her! She is making great strides and watching her open up and become more comfortable with loud noises and sudden movements reminds us why we do what we do. 

Housebreaking, Crate-Training, and Commands

Naomi is both crate AND house trained! This girl is great about her crate and actually will go in with the command “go to bed” (but a treat incentive doesn’t hurt). She eats her food in the crate, so she knows good things happen in there! 

She may protest a little just to remind you she wants to be a part of the party, but otherwise, she’s happy to just hang out. 

Behavior around other Dogs, Cats, and Kids

We haven’t seen Naomi around children just yet, but she lives with other dogs and cats in her foster home and does well with them. She’s a bit shy around other dogs but has relaxed with her foster siblings and even likes to try to play (gently) with her smaller canine brother! Naomi is a very good girl. 

She isn’t super interested in the cats and seems to be more fearful of them than anything. With that in mind, it’s likely she’d be okay in a home with cats!

Behavior around People

If there’s one thing we know that Naomi loves, it’s people. She will rub herself all over her people like a cat does, which foster mom thinks is adorable. 

She loves getting pets and loves giving kisses. She likes to sit in your lap and be as close to you as possible — but is getting a lot better about being independent. She’s easy to redirect and responds great to receiving verbal praise. 

Exercise Needs

Currently, Naomi goes on one to two walks a day and that works for her. She LOVES benebones and toys and can often be found occupying herself with one.
